Kell Brook Responds To Amir Khan's Floyd Mayweather Callout In Typical Fashion

Former Olympian Khan once again called out the unbeaten and retired Mayweather but his fellow British boxer wasn't having it.

In 2017 we've already had some excellent boxing match ups and that looks likely to continue both in England and abroad in 2018 but one fight that still alludes us is Amir Khan and Kell Brook. Only one of the men seems interested in it.

2017 has seen us be able to watch Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko, Andre Ward vs Sergey Kovalev, Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin and Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor to name but a few and we've still got Vasyl Lomachenko vs Guillermo Rigondeaux to come.

Next year we are almost certain to get Alvarez vs GGG II whilst George Groves vs Chris Eubank jnr is guaranteed to get any boxing fan excited, especially those of us in England.

But one fight that continues to make sense in this country but continues to be avoided is one between Amir Khan and Kell Brook. Based on an article about Floyd Mayweather possibly coming out of retirement Khan was once again on the hunt for his big 'Money' fight:

And it really didn't take Brook, who has long been the more willing participant in any potential fight between the pair of welterweights, to call Khan out on his latest activity:

2004 Olympic silver medalist Khan hasn't fought since he was knocked out by Canelo in their middleweight fight in May 2016 and has no fights lined up. The Brit has lost three fights in his career by quite brutal knock outs.

The 30 year old has chased fights with Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao before and nearly got them but has been avoiding Brook for a while and claimed the Sheffield fighter wasn't a money fight.

Now that Brook is no longer unbeaten, having lost to GGG and Errol Spence in his last two fights, and lost his world title the fight now seems further away than ever.

We'll be given many good boxing nights in the next year to sink our teeth into, it doesn't look like Brook vs Khan will be one.
