The one good thing about GGG vs Canelo Alvarez going to a controversial draw was the prospect of a rematch between the pair and now it's been confirmed as happening on March 5th.

Back in September, still in the shadow of the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor fight, Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez fought an absolute classic of a fight in a 12 round slobberknocker.

The problem was that one judge gave it 118-110 to the Mexican and the two men holding all the middleweight gold couldn't be separated.

Fortunately the controversy at least means that we get to see the pair go to war yet again and tonight it was announced as a Cinco de Mayo fight, weirdly The Rock announced it all on his Instagram:

Golden Boy promotions head honcho Oscar de la Hoya spoke to Yahoo Sports, saying, "This is the fight that everyone has been looking for and guess what? I didn't wait.

"We wanted to make this fight right away for the fans. It's the best fight out there and it's the fight that made the most sense and it was a fight we were committed to getting done."

It's set to be a big night!
