Anthony Joshua has surprised fans with his latest slimmed down look, just a week before he fight Andy Ruiz Jr for the second time.

In June Joshua was beaten for the first time in his career, and beaten badly. Ruiz Jr not only took the victory but he stopped AJ in the seventh round after knocking him onto the canvas four times.

Next week the British heavyweight gets the chance for revenge, and to win the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles back, when the pair meet in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua has surprised his fans so close to the fight by posting a picture of himself looking particularly slimmed down and lean.

It seems that fans are on board with the new look with one commenting, "Leaner and faster. All that bulk was slowing you down. Good job. Looking forward to seeing your hand speed and free movement in this fight. So tight and awkward when you lost."

Another fan replied to the picture saying, "Look how lean he's looking now. He's got the W for sure this time round."

And another added, "AJ slimming down he's changing the game plan."

The 6 foot 6 boxer has been known for his incredible physique in the past and one of the criticisms of the former champ is that he's 'just a bodybuilder' but the new physique will likely make him quicker and allow him to show off his boxing skills.

There was also criticism of Ruiz Jr's look, even after the win, with the Mexican mocked for his chubby look and, after having just six weeks to prepare for the first fight, the defending champ also looks slimmer going into the rematch, something Mike Tyson doesn't think is a good idea.

The 2012 Olympic champion will be determined to get his titles back in the Middle East and will then hope to set up a super fight further down the line.

With Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury set to face for the second time in February and the winners of the two fights could look to unify the division in what would be a massive fight.
