Amir Khan's next fight will be against WBA Asia champion Neeraj Goyat in a fight in July in Saudi Arabia though it's not been confirmed if the bout will be an exhibition.

In his last fight Amir Khan faced WBO welterweight champion, and one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world, Terence Crawford for the American's title.

The British boxer was on the receiving end of a low blow from Crawford in the sixth round and didn't take the five minutes he was allowed to recover and the fight was waved off.

Many claimed that Khan had given up but the 2004 Olympic lightweight silver medal winner claimed that he didn't realise that he had that time to recover.

For getting battered by Crawford for five and a half rounds the 32 year old earned himself a purse worth £3.85 million but his next pay day is set to be much bigger and for far less work.

It was reported earlier this week that Khan would be fighting in an exhibition fight, similar to Floyd Mayweather's against Tenshin Nasukawa, against an MMA fighter.

It's now been confirmed that Khan will face WBC Asia champion Neeraj Goyat on July 12 at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in a reported £7 million pay day.

Goyat is a former MMA fighter but now has a boxing record of 11-3-2 but isn't well known outside of India. It's not been confirmed yet whether it will be an exhibition fight or not.

Speaking about the fight the former WBA and IBF light welterweight champion said, "This is an exciting challenge that I have ahead of me.

"It will be the first time a British Pakistani will fight an Indian boxer, which eventually will bring the two nations together.

"I would like to thank the Saudi government and General Sports Authority for giving me this opportunity and I'm a firm believer in sport being a great healer."

Goyat also spoke about the fight, far and away the biggest of his career, saying, "This opportunity is as big as it gets for me.

"Everything that I have achieved to date wouldn't matter when I enter the ring on July 12 taking on a seasoned, established superstar in Amir Khan.

"I will be carrying the hopes of 1.2billion on my shoulders who will expect me to bring the title by causing an upset."
