There was a lot of people having their say after the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor and a lot of time you never know who to listen to. Wladimir Klitschko's typical classy response is definitely one to listen to though.

Boxing rivalries often end up becoming more like wrestling ones where the two men make it seem like they hate each other when really they respect each other. But that wasn't always the case with Wladimir Klitschko.

Whereas the fight earlier this year between one of the Ukrainian's former opponents, David Haye, and Tony Bellew was built up around hatred and disrespect the build around Klitschko's world title fight with Anthony Joshua was built on just the fight between two top heavyweights.

Even when Tyson Fury and Haye had tried to wind up the former Olympic gold medalist before their respective fights against him the now retired boxer tended not to reach too much at all.

And, despite retiring after the Joshua fight, the 41 year old proved he's still the classy man around in the sport with his reaction to the Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather fight:

McGregor managed to last a respectable 10 rounds against his far more experienced opponent and most felt that the fight was even stopped early, even if they also accept it would have eventually been stopped anyway.

Mayweather became the only boxer to retire with a 50-0 record, having drawn level with the famous Rocky Marciano last time he was in the ring, nearly two years ago against Andre Berto.

'Money' Mayweather had put his entire legacy on the line against McGregor but managed to come through the task to cement himself as one of the modern greats of the sport.

McGregor also enhanced his reputation by not being completely overawed or looking ridiculously bad. He will surely go back to MMA now to defend his UFC lightweight title.
