In a quite remarkable moment on Saturday night, Vasiliy Lomachenko pleaded with Richard Commey's corner to throw in the towel, just moments after knocking him down in round seven.

The former pound-for-pound king went on to defeat the Ghanaian fighter by unanimous decision in New York on Saturday night after another masterclass performance inside the squared circle.

It was a dominant performance from the undefeated Ukrainian but to his credit, Commey kept on going after he was dropped by a crisp left hook from the relentless Lomachenko.

In fact, in a quite remarkable moment seconds later, 'The Matrix' could be heard shouting at his opponent's corner to stop the fight.

You can see the ringside footage below.

Here is what the fans could see at home.

After picking up the win on Saturday night, Lomachenko mentioned boxing politics after a potential bout against Gervonta Davis was mentioned.

"I always said I'm open for the fight [with Davis], but you know boxing politics," he said.

"You know we have different promoters. Mayweather said, every time he said, 'Hey, we have our way and forget about [me]. We're making money.'"

The 33-year-old is far from convinced they will meet in the ring. "They fight only on Showtime, and they're fighting with guys who they believe they can win this fight," he added.

"They pair their fighters with opponents they feel their boxers can [beat]."

Thoughts on Lomachenko's latest win? Who should he fight next?
