Just in case we haven't had another crazy match-ups in boxing and combat sports, we've now got a potential fight between the Roy Jones Jr. and Creed Star Michael B. Jordan in the works.

Jordan, who plays Adonis Creed in the two Creed movies, the latest of which in the Rocky franchise sees him slug it out with Ivan Drago's son in the newly released film, did an interview with TMZ and gave major props to Jones, mentioning him as someone he'd love step in the ring with.

In preparation for his leading role as Apollo's Creed son, Jordan has had to do a whole lot of boxing training and while being respectful, reckons he could hang with Jones now, but not in his prime.

"Roy Jones, that's my dude, bro ... I feel like I could do my thing a little bit. I could hold my thing, right now, but in his prime, nah," was Jordan's response.

It seems as though he was being completely hypothetical but Jones, who has 66 wins and 9 losses in his career, genuinely sounds like he wants it to happen.

He's told Jordan to get in touch with him if he's serious and is already on talking about a training camp.

"If Michael B. wants this for real, contact Roy Jones Jr., and we will make it happen. I know he can't beat me still. I know he's probably in better condition because he's younger ... but I'm an old school vet," Jones says in the above two minute clip.

Jones, considered to be one of the greatest of all time, made his professional debut all the way back in 1989 and held world titles in four different weight classes.

And he's still semi-active to this day, with his 75th and most recent fight coming in February this year as the 49-year old beat Scott Sigmon via unanimous decision to win the vacant WBU cruiserweight title.

There's no denying that Jordan is in superb physical shape - and he will have picked up plenty of boxing nous due to his involvement in the movies.

But surely Jones blitzes him if they ever came to blows? Sound off in the comments.
