The rematch for one of the great fights looks likely to take place in the home of the big fights.

Britain has been pretty lucky in the last few years to see some great fights take place on these shores. Unfortunately it looks like Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko will take place abroad.

Just this year we've already seen Joshua and Klitschko go at it in Wembley in a special fight whilst Kell Brook took on Errol Spence in Bramall Lane and Belew vs Haye took place at the O2.

Without really having to give the previous six months in boxing much thought at all that's three big fights that will live long in the memory we've been fortunate enough to see in England.

However Las Vegas remains the place to put on a huge fight and the Blackpool of the desert will host Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor and Canelo Alvarez vs GGG later this year.

And now Eddie Hearn has confirmed that Vegas is the favourite to host the rematch between Joshua and Klitschko as talks have already started:

The national stadium in London held the first fight between the two, that was stopped in the 11th round after a vicious uppercut by Joshua, and holding it in Vegas would mean less people in attendance.

The T-Mobile Arena, for example, that will hold both boxing super fights in August and September, only holds 20,000 in comparison to Wembley's 90,000.

However the money that can be generated from fighting in the most famous fight city in the world does tend to mean that a lower capacity makes more money than a large one elsewhere in the world.

Should the two boxers and their representatives decide that an outdoor arena is better then the Principality Stadium in Cardiff would be an obvious venue change.

Wembley doesn't have a roof and the rematch will be later this year, likely around October or November, so Cardiff's cover would be necessary.

Joshua could make himself an even bigger name with a win in Vegas and there's no doubt there'd be some raucous English travellers!
