Floyd Mayweather Claims Logan Paul Is 'More Famous Than Every Other Boxer In The World'

That's a big statement.

Floyd 'Money' Mayweather has suggested potential opponent Logan Paul is more famous than every other boxer in the world [apart from himself] and that an exhibition bout could bring a $100 million payday.

The 44-year-old confirmed in December last year that he would return to the squared circle for an exhibition fight with the popular YouTuber.

It certainly caused quite a stir but weeks after being scheduled for 20th February the bout was called off, with a new date supposedly set to be announced at a later date.

Since though, Mayweather has backed Paul. In fact, when asked to why he wanted a fight with the YouTube star, he made a rather huge claim surrounding his fame.

"Name another boxer, besides myself, that's more famous than Logan Paul." Mayweather told entrepreneur Rob Moore in a recent interview.

"I'm not just a fighter. I'm an entertainer. I prefer to still go out, entertain and have fun.

"Just because I go out and entertain, have fun, doesn't mean that I still want to fight 12 rounds.

"I think we got a six round exhibition and I think it's going to be very entertaining, and the people are going to love it."

Mayweather went on to claim that six-round bout with Paul would generate more money than a 12-round fight with any other fighter.

"We've got to look at 35 million for 12 rounds or 100 million for six rounds, big difference, big difference," Mayweather said.

"And I can't really say what the numbers are going to be. How much money I'm going to make, or how much Logan Paul is going to make.

"But we're talking about projecting, we've always got to talk about what it's projected to make."

Logan Paul himself recently hit out at critics after his scheduled match-up against Mayweather was postponed, with rumours suggesting it was cancelled due to a "lack of interest."

Speaking on The Night Shift Gaming, Paul explained: "I've been a little upset with the narrative I'm seeing online, a little f*****g upset, so I'll clear this up.

"It's just stupid. A guy who we had come to test to be a strength and conditioning coach leaked information about the fight.

"As soon as this got out, he said that the fight was being pushed [back], I said, 'F**k we've had a leak from inside our camp, no-one else was supposed to know that.'

"Then the narrative changed to 'Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul fight postponed due to lack of interest.'

"Lack of interest? What the f**k? There's not be a fight that's made this much noise the whole year."
