The first images of Mike Tyson in his boxing gear since his comeback fight was announced have been published.

In less than two weeks, a 54-year-old Tyson will lock horns with fellow great Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition fight on November 28 at the Staples Center.

It will be the first time that 'Iron Mike' has returned to the ring since his professional career ended with a sixth defeat at the hands of Kevin McBride in 2005.

And Tyson looks in the absolute best shape of his life in these new black and white images of him in the ring, with his gloves and trademark black shorts.

You could be forgiven for thinking this image is from 1986, when Tyson became the youngest world heavyweight champion aged 20 years and four months.

The baddest man on the planet has put some serious work in to get himself into phenomenal fighting shape and though we've seen him post videos of him in frightening form on the pads, the above shots well and truly highlight the progress made.

In just two years, he's gone from looking like a man with a physique perfectly acceptable for his age, to having a better body than some current heavyweight boxers.

Aided by switching to a vegan lifestyle, Tyson's turnaround has been remarkable and he has now whittled down to 230 pounds.

"I'm feeling better than I've ever felt in my life. God has been merciful to me man. I'm gonna get on with it, I'm looking good," Tyson said to rapper Lil Wayne on Young Money radio, as per The Mac Life.

"Yo Wayne, I'm 230 right now! Man, I'm just getting ready you know, I'm just getting ready to help some people less fortunate than me. "

Tyson and Jones were slated to meet way back in 2003 but 17 years on, the legendary pair are mixing it up for eight two minute rounds.

The pair will indeed be competing for an official belt, while there will be no headguards, no judges and 12 ounce gloves will be used.
