Conor McGregor believes he won the early rounds and "outlanded" Floyd Mayweather in their 2017 boxing superfight.

The Irishman was stopped in the tenth round by Mayweather in his boxing debut, with 'Money' moving to 50-0 as a result of his comfortable victory in Las Vegas.

Prior to the stoppage, McGregor was only deemed to have won one round and was losing on all three of the judges' scorecards.

But nearly three years on from his defeat, McGregor has rewatched the "great contest" and reckons he won all of the early rounds and even "later rounds" despite tiring as the fight went on.

McGregor took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the fighter after receiving high praise from heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson.

Tyson defended the Notorious' performance on a recent edition of 'Hotboxin' with Mike Tyson' and praised him for going 10 rounds with the 'greatest fighter of the last 100 years of boxing.'

In response, McGregor thanked 'Iron' Mike for his comments and promised "his life" on beating the undefeated Mayweather in what he believes to be "the inevitable rematch" between them.

He wrote: "Thank you Mike, and just know that for the inevitable rematch, with the knowledge I now hold of Floyd's style, plus under the tutelage of my old school boxing coach, I will crack the puzzle, and I will beat Floyd.

"I promise my life on it. It is great to see you back Iron Mike."
