Lennox Lewis has broken down the reasons why Anthony Joshua beat Andy Ruiz Jr. in their highly-anticipated rematch that took place on Saturday, December 7.
Anthony Joshua was able to reclaim his WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO world heavyweight belts after beating Andy Ruiz Jr. on points in the Clash on the Dunes on Saturday, December 7.
Joshua came into the fight with a different outlook and fought methodically, patiently, and fought as a true boxer. This comes as a surprise after Joshua had become synonymous as a knockout artist.

The Watford-born Boxer had lost just over ten pounds from their previous fight, dropping under 17 stone for the first time in his professional career. The weight loss was shown in the ring with Joshua dancing past and dodging the majority of Ruiz's wild throws.
Boxing legend, Lennox Lewis said he was delighted with Joshua's performance and it was a complete Boxing performance.
"Every fight isn't going to be a KO," Lewis said.
"I thought AJ fought a good tactical fight and didn't fall into trap of trying to mix it up in exchanges...This was a good addition to his experience. He also wisely unpacked his jab for this one."

A lot of casual fans were upset with Joshua's lack of power, hoping the Brit would knockout Ruiz Jr. However, Lewis agreed with AJ's tactic and that he wasn't able to criticise his performance.
"I understand that [people] want blood... but, as a fighter, you have to be disciplined enough to wait for the opportunities to open up,' Lewis added.
"Sometimes they don't come. When that happens you play it safe and stick to game plan."
