Lennox Lewis Wants $100 Million For Riddick Bowe Comeback Fight

Bowe and Lewis were set to fight back in 1992 but Bowe originally backed out of the fight, losing one of his title belts in the process.

Riddick Bowe is dead-set on a return to the Boxing Ring. The 52-year-old wants to fight Lennox Lewis now, 27 years after ducking the Brit.

The American former-Heavyweight Champion, thinks it's time to come out of retirement to give Boxing a go again. Bowe hasn't fought since 2008 and wants Lennox Lewis, the Boxer he famously ducked back in 1992.

However, getting Lewis might be harder than initially thought with the Brit wanting $100 Million to stage the fight.

Team Bowe, headed by Eli Karabell told WorldBoxingNews:

"We want to fight Lennox Lewis. We entered negotiations with them to attempt a fight but they broke down when Lennox's manager asked to not call her anymore.

"They text saying they wanted $100m for the fight and that my number was blocked. I would be tempted to negotiate a fight with Lennox (himself) as well."

Karabell and Bowe actually went straight to MatchRoom's Eddie Hearn to work out and promote the fight for them. The Essex-born Promoter is synonymous with making the biggest fights happen without much of a problem.

"I ended the messages with, 'Team Bowe will be in touch' but she is saying I'm not part of his team. But maybe Eddie Hearn could host it in Saudi Arabia?"

Maybe we'll finally get the fight that we deserved in 1992, it just might not be at the same level of quality as back then.
