Mike Tyson’s Bone-Chilling Entrance Against Michael Spinks Is Boxing’s Greatest Ring Walk

Mike Tyson created the most incredible aura when he made his spine-chilling ring walk against Michael Spinks in their blockbuster fight.

The 53-year-old boxing legend was only 21 years old going into the 1988 bout and already held the WBA, WBC and IBF titles.

The prime 'Iron' Mike turned his menacing fear factor up a notch when he made his entrance into the Atlantic City Convention Hall in New Jersey.

British Boxing tweeted out a throwback clip of when Tyson ditched the "traditional music and enters the ring to a chorus of noise, clanging chains and [sinister] tones."

One Twitter user, Shaun Kavanagh, tweeted out ahead of Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury's rematch that he "never [forgot] Mike Tyson's intimidating ring walk music when he fought a terrified Michael Spinks."

Spinks entered the fight undefeated and was the lineal heavyweight champ after he beat Larry Holmes in 1985.

However, 'Iron' Mike manhandled Spinks in the fight and sealed a sensational first-round knockout victory.

Hall of Famer Spinks, who retired from boxing after the fight, admitted that he "came up short" against Tyson.

"I came to fight like I said I would. I just tried to do what I knew I had to do, and that was fight," he explained.

"Not that I stood toe to toe with him, but I tried to take the shot and I came up short."

Tyson, who was known for his menacing ring walks, later revealed that the Spinks fight was his best performance.

"The Michael Spinks fight was my best performance," the 'Baddest Man on the Planet' told The Ring Magazine in 2014.

"I kept moving forward and threw a couple of great three-punch combinations.

"When I finally caught him on the ropes, I remember turning southpaw in order to throw my right hand to the body and right uppercut."
