Eddie Hearn has launched a scathing attack on Deontay Wilder and ridiculed him for his outrageous claim that his 'heavy' ring-walk outfit made him lose.

The 34-year-old American star wore an extravagant outfit to celebrate Black History Month ahead of his fight with Tyson Fury.

But Wilder, who suffered his only professional defeat to Fury in Las Vegas last Saturday, insisted that the weight of his outfit affected his legs going into the rematch.

But Hearn has brushed aside his excuses and trolled him with a hilarious re-enactment of how Team Wilder's conversation played out over the costume.

The Matchroom chief told iFL TV: "So we're presuming now that he's gone into the changing room, yeah, and they've gone, 'Yo, 'Big D,' you got two minutes, son.' Okay, right, 'Ready?'

'Oh, give me that thing. [Pretends to put the costume on] Oh, f*****g hell. That's heavy. I don't know if I can walk out.' Come on, mate, I know its 40 pound[s], but you'll be fine.

"[Gets in the ring] Yeah, take it off, man. 'Oh, bloody hell. My legs are like jelly.'"

Hearn changed his tone after the impression and slammed Wilder for suggesting that he didn't win his "career-defining fight" because of the costume.

"I mean, have you ever heard anything so ridiculous in all your life? I mean, firstly... I'm sure it was heavy, right, but the walk's like 100 yards or summat like that," the 40-year-old promoter explained.

"But how can you even get an outfit that's heavy... I mean, it's the biggest fight of your career, defining moment, but you're basically saying the reason you didn't win the career-defining fight, the legacy moment in your history is because you had a gown that was too heavy... or an outfit. I mean, amateurs, amateurs."

Dillian Whyte, who is represented by Hearn, also pulled no punches and brutally mocked fierce rival Wilder for his excuses.

Suzi Wong creative director Melissa Anglesea, who has worked on Fury's outfits, has argued that Wilder's costume didn't "make an ounce of difference."
