Floyd Mayweather Vs Logan Paul Predicted To Smash PPV Record For Richest Fight In History

Floyd Mayweather secured lucrative PPV sales for his mega-fights against Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor in 2015 and 2017 respectively.

The upcoming exhibition fight between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul could become the most lucrative bout in the history of boxing.

That's according to Fanmio CEO Solomon Engel, who has played his part in securing the bizarre crossover fight between boxing legend Mayweather and YouTuber Paul.

Engel has now insisted that the exhibition clash could surpass the mammoth PPV sales of Mayweather's previous blockbuster fights against Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor.

Mayweather vs Pacquiao in 2015 brought in around 4.6m PPV buys, while McGregor's 2017 crossover fight with 'Money' secured around 4.4m PPV sales.

Engel has already teased that Mayweather vs Paul has picked up PPV numbers "which [are] kind of unheard of early on."

The Fanmio founder told The Sun: "We do see it breaking the record. We have projections which I don't want to comment on but we do see it breaking the record.

"I can tell you we are very bullish on beating that number and possibly by a long shot.

"We have already sold a great deal of PPVs, which is kind of unheard of early on."

According to Fanmio's official website, Mayweather vs Paul has currently sold under a million PPV stream buys.

The PPV has a four-part model in place for its pricing, which is currently priced at $24.99.

Once the first million buys are made, the PPV price will climb to $39.99 before shooting up in price again after certain days (29th December and 11th February).

Mayweather and Paul will clash on 20th February 2021. A location or venue for the fight has not been confirmed at the time of this writing.

Solomon has recently suggested that the exhibition clash is a "real fight" and "there could be a knockout."

He explained: "This is a real fight. And whoever wins, wins. Certainly, there could be a knockout, yes.

"I think it will be a very competitive fight. And to be clear, we have Floyd who is the best fighter, and Logan who is a new fighter.

"But, Logan does have some size difference: he's many inches taller, many pounds heavier and when you look at size and how that could affect the match -- there's really no telling what the outcome could be.

"I do think that it will be competitive because Floyd has an incredible amount of skill and he's going to bring that to the table and Logan has size.

"It's like the David vs Goliath story -- and we all know the outcome of that. But we don't know what the outcome will be here."
