Floyd Mayweather has vehemently denied having a tooth knocked out by former foe Marcos Maidana.

The former pound-for-pound king hit back at Maidana's bold claim after the Argentine slugger took to social media to show off a necklace.

The 36-year-old posted a picture of Mayweather's alleged tooth in a necklace, accompanied with the caption: "The tooth of Floyd Mayweather that Marcos 'El Chino' Maidana will use in his chain."

But Mayweather has contradicted Maidana's claim by denying he had his tooth knocked out during their 2014 rematch.

"In the third round, when he hit me with that shot after the bell, it was a real good shot. It got my attention. It was nothing I never felt before, but it was a really good shot which got my attention. No, he didn't knock my teeth out. Not at all! He's a strong guy, he's a good puncher, but no, as far as my teeth missing, absolutely not" he said.

Mayweather, of course, fought Maidana twice during his glittering professional career. He beat him by majority decision in their first clash with the controversial result earning 'El Chino' an immediate rematch.

The slick American, though, made no mistakes in their second meeting as he comfortably outpointed the hard-hitting welterweight.
