British heavyweight Dave Allen doesn't want to see Mike Tyson box again and insists he'd beat the returning boxing legend.

Tyson, 53, is set for a sensational ring return when he laces up the gloves again for an exhibition bout.

But his proposed comeback has divided opinion among the fight community, with some people feeling he shouldn't come out of retirement including Allen who believes 'Iron' Mike's comeback should NOT happen.

The 28-year-old Doncaster fighter reckons he'd beat the former heavyweight world champion in a frank assessment of the American's boxing plans.

"A lot of people would laugh at this, but this is the facts - I would beat a 53-year-old Mike Tyson," he told talkSPORT.

"And that is the saddest thing any boxing fan wants to hear. For that reason alone, he should never box again."

He added: "I think fighting's a young man's game. I'm 28 years old, I've had a lot of hard fights and people are saying to me, 'David, you're coming to the end of your career now.'

"I've talked to people saying I should stop before because I've had some hard fights.

"People see him on the pads, a little minute clip, and say, 'Oh he could come back and beat everybody."

Allen's bold claim about Tyson sent social media wild.

"Dave Allen would beat him inside 2 rounds it would be awful to see," one social media user wrote.

A second tweeted: "I don't think he'd beat Tyson but I understand what Dave Allen is sayin."

A third argued: "Well id pick dave allen to beat danny williams who ko'd tyson 15 years ago...id also pick him to beat mcbride who sat tyson on his stool made him quit. So i have to say 15 years later against a fresher younger half decent heavyweight british level tyson will loose."
