Fury was also the underdog against Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. He defied the odds by dethroning the Ukrainian in Dusselfdorf, Germany, despite being priced at 5/1.
A point he's brought up. "I was 5/1 vs old wlad but still won," Fury said in reply to Oddschecker's odds.
Fury will be seeking to emulate his heroics against Klitschko when he faces Wilder on December 1st in Los Angeles, California.
The WBC world title match-up was officially confirmed on Thursday night, and Fury reacted by calling it the 'biggest heavyweight fight in modern day boxing history'.
"This is the biggest heavyweight fight in modern day boxing history. Never before have we seen 2 unbeaten champions go tow2tow for the fans! Both big personalities & both over 6"6 this should be a fight to remember. Let the games begin. Let's get this party started," he wrote on Twitter.
Ahead of the heavyweight showdown, Wilder and Fury will go on a three-stop media tour.
