Andy Ruiz Jr has revealed that he has lost some weight in preparation for the Anthony Joshua rematch, but not as much as it looks.

The 30-year-old stunned fans after sharing a picture of himself looking a lot leaner than he was the night he shocked the heavyweight division by stopping Anthony Joshua.

His body transformation has continued to attract a lot of attention following an image of him alongside sparring partner Michael Hunter.

But Ruiz Jr insists he's only 3lbs lighter than when he fought Joshua on June 1.

"Right now I'm only like 3lbs less than when I fought Anthony Joshua [at 268lbs]," he explained to iFLTV.

"A lot of people are saying, 'He looks too skinny, he's not gonna be strong.'

Those are people that don't really know about boxing. We've been looking really good inside the ring and I just wanna be 6lbs/8lbs lighter than I was for the first fight on June 1.

"That's the goal right now, it's gonna make me feel a lot better, more slicker, more faster, and it's gonna tell on December 7."

Joshua also appears to be slimming down ahead of their Saudi Arabia showdown, but the Mexican-American has questioned 'AJ's decision to trim down.

"I have seen that he did trim down, he lost a little bit of weight. I don't know if that's gonna be good for him," he added.

"I've seen a lot of fights of him, he's not good at boxing around. I know he's been practicing, been working, but inside of the ring it's a lot different.

"He can't be that quick to learn those skills. No matter what he has up his sleeve, it's my job for him to not do that."

Ruiz Jr will defend his WBA (super), IBF and WBO world heavyweight titles against Joshua on December 7 in Saudi Arabia.
