Anthony Joshua offered his services to Tony Bellew ahead of his rematch versus David Haye, though he politely declined while giving a brilliant response.

The unified heavyweight world champion is not just Bellew's stable mate, but also a good friend.

And during the build-up to the Haye fight, Joshua was prepared to spar Bellew in his Rotherham training base under the tutelage of Dave Coldwell.

Joshua is fresh off adding the WBO title to his impressive belt haul after beating the previously-undefeated Joseph Parker.

While the 28-year-old is amid prolonged negotiations with Team Wilder for a mega-unification bout, he was eager to give Bellew a proverbial hand.

However, Bellew was having none of it.

Just after stopping Haye, he revealed how Joshua dropped him a text message, offering to help before declining his warm gesture in hilarious fashion.

"He texted me about nine weeks ago and offered to help me prepare for Haye," he told Sky Sports via Express.

Bellew added: "I was like: 'Boy, you're crazy!' Just help me? I don't need that in my life.

"Six foot five, full of muscle, with energy and speed. I do not need that problem."

Joshua was sat ringside, providing punditry for Box Office and supporting Bellew.

And moments after recording victory, the proud Evertonian invited him into the ring. But, classy as ever, Joshua admirably refused to enter the ring, saying: "Nah, it's your time. It's your time."

The lads at iFL TV captured the brilliant moment between Bellew and Joshua.

That's now back-to-back victories over Haye.

What's next for the 'Bomber'?

Retirement? The winner between WBSS cruiserweight final Oleksandr Usyk and Murat Gassiev?

Or even Andre Ward?

Well, it's a fight Matchroom are eyeing up. Talking it up in the post-fight presser.

"Styles make fights," Bellew said.

"There's many styles out there that I can beat. I'll beat Andre Ward. You're all laughing at me, thinking I haven't got a chance. I will knock Andre Ward out. I will beat him down, slowly but surely.

"I could do it two ways, I could outbox Andre Ward if I choose to, I've just got a different set of skills than what he's faced before.

"I'll beat him, I don't care how good he is. I've got all the respect in the world for him, he's an amazing fighter, a pound-for-pound great. Styles make fights and I would beat him," he added.

Promoter Eddie Hearn insists a potential bout must happen on British soil: "Yeah, 100%. Only here."
