Ivan Redkach shockingly bit Danny Garcia's shoulder during their welterweight clash.

Redkach sunk his teeth into Garcia's shoulder as he lost a unanimous decision in Brooklyn on Saturday night.

The Ukrainian channelled his inner Mike Tyson in the eighth round to bite Garcia who immediately remonstrated to the referee who failed to notice the bizarre moment.

When Garcia went back to his corner, his trainer and father urged him to punish Redkach for his despicable actions: "F**k him up, f**k him up for that."

Garcia went onto beat Redkach on points with the judges scoring the contest 118-110, 117-111 & 117-111 and speaking after their WBC eliminator, he revealed that his opponent even bragged about his bite.

"He bit me. He said, 'Mike Tyson,' when he bit me. I said, 'Ref, he bit me.' I thought I needed stitches or something," he said.

"That's my first time ever getting bit in a fight."

Of course, Tyson infamously bit Evander Holyfield's ear during their heavyweight bout in 1997.

Garcia, meanwhile, improved to 36-2 with his second straight win following his defeat to Shawn Porter.

After the fight, he set his sights on WBC and IBF world champion Errol Spence as well as WBA title holder Manny Pacquiao.

"Either or (Spence or Pacquiao)," he said. "Either of those fights I would like to have. My style looks great against both fighters."
