Eddie Hearn believes Andy Ruiz Jr has tricked fans into thinking he has lost weight by cleverly posing on social media.

Ruiz Jr, 30, stunned fans after sharing a picture of himself looking a lot leaner than he was the night he shocked the heavyweight division by stopping Anthony Joshua.

But 'AJ's promoter isn't buying Ruiz Jr's tactical picture, insisting the unified heavyweight champion is actually heavier.

"I thought he looked quite tubby," Hearn said after watching a clip of Ruiz Jr's open workout in San Diego. "I actually thought he looked heavier than he did previously.

"Make your own mind up. That clip that I saw, which was him training in San Diego, I didn't think that he looked slimmer than he did last camp.

"There was one picture of him leaning forward. The old 'lean forward', tucked back, with a little pout, can make you lose half a stone. Maybe he's done that.

"I thought he looked heavy, I thought he looked a bit slower actually - maybe I'm just used to his speed now. He's a bit tubby, isn't he? I'm a bit tubby."

Ruiz Jr's supposed body transformation also attracted the attention of Mike Tyson who slammed him for his weight loss.

"There have been rumours he has lost weight," the former heavyweight champion of the world explained. "I don't like that. I believe losing the weight can affect power sometimes.

"If it's not broken, don't fix it. He did well at that weight, so he should stay at that weight.

"In the first fight, Ruiz put the pressure on him so fast that he didn't know what to anticipate. And there were some hard punches."

Ruiz Jr will face Joshua on December 7 in Saudi Arabia for the WBA (super), IBF and WBO heavyweight belts.
