Top lightweight prospect Ryan Garcia scored a stunning first round knockout victory over Francisco Fonseca in California on Friday.

Garcia stopped Fonseca in just 80 seconds of their DAZN main event clash to improve his professional record to a perfect 20-0.

The 21-year-old shook Fonseca with a right hook before putting him down and out with a brutal left hook which caught him flush on the chin.

Speaking after his impressive win, Garcia said: "It was a good performance. It didn't last too long. I watched video of Sugar Ray Robinson coming into this fight.

"He did a little fake, and he caught them with a left hook. I was planning for it to go a little longer, I'm not gonna lie. But respect to Fonseca, they were great people. They respected me the whole time.

"I saw the left hook, it was there. I just needed to let him commit to a shot. So I let him get comfortable, and then I caught him with the shot.

"I'm ready for everybody now. I'm ready. I feel comfortable. I've been in there with all the good sparring. I'm ready for everybody, let's go!"

Garcia and fellow phenom Devin Haney could be on a collision course to fight at the end of 2020.

He clashed with 'The Dream' during his post-fight interview, setting up a monster bout.

But Jorge Linares is likely next for Garcia with Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya revealing that they've reserved a date in July at Los Angeles' iconic Staples Center.

Linares stopped Carlos Morales in four on the under card of Garcia vs. Fonseca.
