Canelo Alvarez Has Withdrawn From GGG Rematch, Fight Is OFF
Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has withdrawn from his Gennady Golovkin rematch.
The Mexican sensation sent shock waves through the sport after failing a pre-fight drug test.
He tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol in two separate drug tests, putting the world title bout in jeopardy.
The rematch was set for Las Vegas, Nevada, on Cinco de Mayo following their epic first bout in September 2017.
But Golden Boy's Eric Gomez has just announced on a conference call that they are canceling the May 5th super-fight.
