The first fight on the 'Canelo' Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders main card started in bizarre fashion after Nagy Aguilera produced some embarrassing theatrics that resulted in his bout with Frank Sanchez ending in the sixth round.

The Dominican boxer was competing against Sanchez but didn't seem all that up for the challenge when he was caught ever so slightly with a right hand on his shoulder 1 minute and 42 seconds into the sixth round of the ten round heavyweight encounter.

He collapsed to the canvas clutching the back of his head and claimed he had been on the receiving end of a rabbit punch - even if cameras showed it was absolutely not the case.

Aguilera overreacted massively and was quite clearly looking for a disqualification.

However, referee Ruben Perez deemed Sanchez's foul to be accidental, meaning they went to the judges scorecards - all three scoring it 60-54 to Sanchez to see the Cuban improve to 18-0 in professional boxing.

But Aguilera's play-acting saw him booed by fans in attendance at the AT&T Stadium and panned on social media. Many called for his purse to be taken off him for his behaviour:

Hilariously, the announcer wished the Dominican Dynamo a speedy recovery but he probably ought to have wished him well in his transition from a boxer to an actor.

Aguilera is now 21-11 and fans would probably prefer to see his namesake Christina fight instead after seeing the stunt he pulled on the big stage tonight.
