Anthony Joshua has warmly opened up to the idea of KSI and Logan Paul's rematch by praising the knock-on effect it could have for boxing.

The blockbuster second bout was announced on Tuesday and is slated to take place on 9th November at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

And former unified champ Joshua, who will have his rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr on 7th December, admitted that the two YouTubers could attract more people to the sport.

"I think it's sick, he could have promoted it from a point of view that's non-boxing, but getting their licenses, no head guards, rounds of boxing," the 29-year-old superstar Brit said.

"What people have to realise is you have to put all eyes on boxing for us all to thrive.

"KSI and Logan Paul have a bigger following than me and most of the heavyweights combined.

"If all those eyes are now going to watch me and watch my competitors and watch the sport of boxing, it's going to rise."

'AJ' sent out a warning to KSI and Paul by insisting that they need to take the rematch seriously and saying that he hopes "they take it seriously because they can earn some respect here."

He continued: "People look at them as a joke now, and they doubt them, but if they take it serious and they put on a good performance people might scratch their head and say, 'Hang on a minute, this weren't such a bad idea.'"

Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, is supporting the hotly anticipated clash by having Matchroom Boxing promote the event.

The 40-year-old Matchroom boss came out after the announcement to explain why he had changed his mind on KSI and Paul's initial bout and why he was now supporting the rematch.

KSI and Paul's first blockbuster bout was held at the Manchester Arena in August last year, which ended in a majority draw.
