Floyd Mayweather Says Conor McGregor 'Don't Want This' During Training

Floyd Mayweather might be retired but he's once again got people thinking about a rematch with Conor McGregor by taking a shot at the UFC star during a training session.

The American boxer's last professional fight was in 2017 when he beat McGregor, in the Irishman's first professional boxing fight, to take his record to 50-0 and retired, again, after it.

There's been talk of him getting back in the ring ever since and a rematch against the Irishman is high on the list of potential fights, as is another opponent from UFC.

In an Instagram Live video of his training session recently, 'Money' once again called out his rival saying that McGregor 'didn't want this,' though the rest of the conversation isn't easy to pick up.

Clearly, despite the masks that some of Mayweather's team are wearing, the former five weight world champion isn't really sticking to social distancing rules when it comes to his training sessions.

He could be training for a comeback after he confirmed at the end of 2019 that he'd fight again, and was working with UFC president Dana White for his comeback, but that has changed recently.

Mayweather's uncle, and coach, Roger died just last month at the age of 59, leading to Floyd to suggest his priorities lay elsewhere.

Speaking on another Instagram Live about training his son earlier this month the 43-year-old said, "This is my first day working with my 14-year-old old nephew, and my second time doing mitt work.

"As many of you know, I've had incredible trainers which included my dad and uncle. Due to the recent passing of my Uncle Roger, I've felt inspired to help those around me the same way they have been there for me throughout my boxing career."

McGregor spoke about ditching the octagon for the ring again at the beginning of 2020 in an interview with Ariel Helwani, ahead of his UFC 246 fight with Donald Cerrone.

After winning in January though the Notorious is likely to have his eyes on another title fight in MMA before going back to boxing.

He was expected to fight Justin Gaethje in his next fight but the American has replaced Khabib Nurmagomedov in the UFC 249 main event to take on Tony Ferguson.

That could lead to McGregor taking on Nate Diaz in a trilogy fight later this year.
