Billy Joe Saunders thinks it could be 'dangerous' for Jake Paul to get in the ring with Conor McGregor, and has backed the Irishman to 'spark out' the YouTuber.

Paul has been calling out McGregor incessantly in the past few weeks, since knocking out former NBA star Nate Robinson on the undercard of Mike Tyson's rematch.

The YouTuber looks set to make his third appearance in a professional boxing fight against someone from the MMA world next year, with Ben Askren and Dillon Danis both potential opponents.

WBO super middleweight champion BJS clearly feels that the 23-year-old, whose brother faces Floyd Mayweather next year, should avoid McGregor.

"You don't really want them throwing punches at each other because I can see [McGregor] knock someone out before cold, that fella [Paul] never had a fight in his life," Saunders told iFL TV.

"You can clearly see boxing is not a playground.

"I think Conor McGregor will spark him and hurt him bad in UFC or boxing.

"I still think Conor McGregor takes him bad, to be honest.

"If they're looking at, what is it? 50 million? Conor McGregor should go and whoop his ass and take that off him because it'll be very comfortable.

"But it's very dangerous.

"If they're all going to make money and the promoters are going to put in on, who am I to say it's not good?"

As well as Askren and Danis, Paul has also been linked with a fight with Michael Bisping and Yoel Romero but he turned down Dana White's offer to take on Amanda Nunes.

So far McGregor hasn't responded to any of the call outs from the 2-0 boxer, whose other win came against a fellow YouTuber on his brother's undercard against KSI, even the fact the social media star unfollowed everyone on Instagram apart from the Irishman's fiancee.

Instead the former two weight UFC champ is just concentrating on his return to action against Dustin Poirier on January 23rd.
