The LA Lakers star watched on in envy as he admitted he felt like he missed out after the bout.

Lebron James admitted he 'wished he was there' as Jake Paul defeated Tyron Woodley in Cleveland with a split decision inside his home arena.

The former Clevaland Cavaliers player must have sensed the atmosphere he's been the main source of energy of in his career as he watched the pay-per-view event which took place at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, home of the states NBA side.

James had two spells at the Cavaliers, moving on to the LA Lakers in 2018 but his comments following the fight show that he still has a great affinity to the team and venue which brought record numbers for the rematch.

"Cleveland is Jumping!" James Tweeted: "Should have flew back to the crib."

Speaking after his victory, the YouTube star turned Boxer went through all eight rounds to get the win over the former UFC champion, in a bout which again underwhelmed boxing fans. The 24-year-old has now won his first four fights after a solid right hand sent 39-year-old Woodley into the ropes gave him the advantage on the scorecards which came in at 77-75, 75-77, 78-74 in favour of Paul who could be set to face Tommy Fury, the brother of Tyson, in his next fight.

Speaking in his press conference after the fight, Paul acknowledged the fact that Lebron James had tweeted about the contest, provoking an emotional response from the fighter who used to watch James play from the seats inside the stadium he had just been the star of the show himself.

"I’m getting teary-eyed, that’s sick. For him to tweet about this, that’s crazy. I’m being really hard on myself, but man, I’ve accomplished so much in the last four fights. No one is doing this. I’m trying not to cry, but for him to even tweet that is crazy.”
