Jake Paul has claimed that his next fight has been agreed, with a $200 million purse supposedly on offer, despite recent concerns about the Problem Child’s health.

Paul, who boasts a professional boxing record of 12–2, has been sidelined since sustaining a sixth-round knockout defeat to former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua back in December 2025.

After the fight, Paul had two titanium plates fitted, as well as having some teeth removed, revealing that AJ broke his jaw in two places during their Miami showdown.

Earlier this week, while speaking with journalist Ariel Helwani, the 29-year-old raised concerns over his future in the sport, saying: “I'm getting some new scans in a couple of days, of the jaw, to get an update on the healing process. We'll see what the doctors say.

“I think I'll be able to get a more accurate timeframe — or can I even fight again? That is definitely in the realm of possibility.

“It does feel a lot better as the weeks go by, but I definitely need to get cleared to be able to spar. I'm staying in shape and enjoying some mitt work. I'm always in the gym regardless.”

Paul hints at $200 million Canelo fight

But just two days on from those comments, Paul has now suggested that he and four-division world champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez have engaged in talks over a fight worth $200 million.

Paul told Betr: “Canelo, I have the $200 million for you — easy money. Jake vs Canelo, let’s get it done. This is what the fans have been waiting for. This is the biggest fight that could possibly be made in boxing.

“Canelo said he’s down on the phone, so we’re going to make it happen. I have the $200 million. I think that’s going to be the next fight. Sign the contract, Canelo. Much respect to you. Let’s make the biggest fight in boxing happen.”

The 35-year-old Mexican fighter is widely regarded as one of the best fighters of the modern era, having won 63 of his 68 fights, with his three defeats coming against pound-for-pound greats Floyd Mayweather Jr, Dmitry Bivol and, most recently, Terence Crawford.

Canelo and Paul have gone back and forth on several occasions, with the Mexican telling fans to avoid paying attention to the American just last year while saying he only fights “real fighters”.

On May 9, it was announced that Canelo would return against undefeated WBC super-middleweight champion Christian Mbilli this autumn, according to Top Rank’s president, Todd duBoef.
