Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua is going to appear as a playable character in the upcoming FIFA 21 game.
EA Sports are introducing some changes to broaden the appeal of the FIFA franchise, meaning players will be able to select AJ for their five-a-side team in FIFA 21's Volta mode.
If that was unusual enough, the boxer will also be wearing a Volta collection kit designed by Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin. What's next? Floyd Mayweather as dressed by Kieran Tierney?
DJ Diplo is also set to be available as a playable character as EA look to blend the "worlds of football, music, fashion and beyond" into FIFA 21. AJ and Diplo will be among the so-called "groundbreakers" who players can either face or recruit to their own team.

Football legends Thierry Henry, Eric Cantona and Kaka are also included - though we imagine Joshua has to be the prime choice if you're looking for a super-strength colossus to KO the opposition.
Fans have naturally been quick to have their say on Twitter, with past footage posted of Joshua indulging in some real-life kick-ups. He's pretty good (or so we'd say to his face).
This is not the first crossover for Joshua, who appeared alongside heavyweight rival Tyson Fury in EA Sports' UFC 4 game. That proved a big attraction as fans pitted the two boxers against one another in the Octagon - handy as they're yet to meet in real life in the squared circle.

Clearly EA are just happy to chuck Olympic gold medallist AJ into every franchise they have. Anthony Joshua as a linebacker in Madden NFL? We would not put it past them.
What do you think of Joshua appearing in Volta? Will you be picking the big Brit in your team? Let us know in the comments.
