Deontay Wilder Probably Regrets His Latest Calling Out Of Anthony Joshua

This wasn't a smart move!

Everyone wants a piece of Anthony Joshua after Saturday. No more so than a potential future opponent in WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, but the American may regret his latest call out of AJ.

Joshua was already one of the biggest names in the heavyweight division before last weekend but his win over Wladimir Klitschko put him in another stratosphere.

His 11th round stoppage of the Ukrainian in front of 90,000 people at Wembley in an absolute classic instantly made him one of the biggest names in boxing and in world sport.

Now the WBA (Super), IBF and IBO heavyweight champion the former Olympian has a target on his back for the rest of boxing's blue riband division.

As well as Klitschko and Tyson Fury another potential future opponent is Deontay Wilder, the American is also unbeaten and the holder of the one major title Joshua doesn't have, the WBC belt.

Wilder was in attendance on Saturday night but still found it fitting to have a pop at the Brit on Twitter on Wednesday:

However Wilder would live to regret his tweet. Despite being 38-0 with 37 KOs it's generally considered that the Olympic bronze medalist hasn't met any big challenges and boxing fans were quick to point that out to him:

We reckon Deontay might have turned his notifications off from Twitter after that post!

The way boxing works these two won't get in the ring together for a while yet and by that point most of the titles will be gone because of mandatory fights, you can't help but despair.

Who should AJ fight next?
