Andres Gutierrez Weighs In 11 Pounds Over For WBC World Title Eliminator
Oscar Valdez has had to find a late replacement for his WBC super featherweight title eliminator on Saturday night after original opponent Andres Gutierrez was pulled for being 11 pounds over the weight.
On Friday the two men were supposed to weigh in at no heavier than 130 lbs, which Valdez managed with no issues, but Gutierrez stepped onto the scales at 141 pounds.
Promoter Bob Arum looked shocked and disgusted and even the boxer himself looked a little surprised.

Bob Arum's reaction says it all!
The moment Andres Gutierrez missed weight by three divisions!

Afterwards Arum said, "We're throwing him out of the hotel. I have seen guys two or three pounds over weight, that is still unprofessional, but to come in at 11 pounds overweight is a disgrace - I have never seen anything like it."
WBO featherweight champion Valdez, who headlines the Las Vegas bill, was also disappointed, saying, "I trained hard for three months making the sacrifices, and I am very upset with him."
The 28-year-old will still have a fight at least as American Adam Lopez, who was meant to take on Luis Coria on the undercard, has stepped in.

A guy like Andres Gutierrez, every matchmaker in the world should lose his number. Guy like this can not be trusted. It''s harsh, but its the reality #boxing- Steve Kim (@StevESPNKim) November 29, 2019
What andres Gutierrez just did today at the weighing is a number of things ..disrespectful, unprofessional, and most importantly ungrateful to name a few .. I'm glad WBC has taking matters already and hope we still get a fight with Valdez against A decent opponent.- ABNER MARES (@abnermares) November 29, 2019
WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman confirmed there will be an investigation into Gutierrez, saying, "This is absolutely a clear indication of a dangerous tactic by Gutierrez to cut weight.
"This case will be fully investigated to its fullest consequences," with the WBC boss also sharing a tweet that proved the overweight boxer had put on eight pounds in seven days.

Weight management program is a top priority for WBC and this case will be fully investigated to its fullest consequences . Gutierrez would have been overweight if they'd had fought at super lightweight, two divisions above the actual weight class they were due to square off in.
That's a hell of a good Thanksgiving.
