Dana White has laid into Showtime boxing for allowing Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant to get physical in their first face-off.
The two lock horns in an huge super middleweight unification fight in Las Vegas on November 6 and had a face-to-face meeting in Los Angeles to promote the bout.
But a chaotic brawl ensued. Canelo pushed Plant during the staredown and the IBF champion then threw a punch that the Mexican fighter slipped beautifully.
He then caught Plant with a left hand that brought about a very visible cut on 'Sweet Hands'. Security stepped in to diffuse things eventually but the damage had already been done.
And UFC president White did not hold back when asked about the brawl between Canelo and Plant.

Stinking of sarcasm, White went in on Showtime for not having someone there to prevent the fighters from getting into it - like he does regularly in intense UFC face-offs.
“I’m not surprised. S***showtime, erm, they’re great,” White said, speaking at at the post-fight press conference for Season 5, Week 4 of the Contender Series.
“Those guys are really good at what they do - from production to press conferences, they’re f***ing awesome.
“How long have you been in the business that you would let two fighters go up to each other face-to-face without somebody there to try to [keep them from fighting]. And then, when it breaks out, there’s like two women that are there before there’s a man anywhere near it.

"You couldn’t be f*cking dumber than what they did today, risk a massive fight with one of the biggest stars in the sport, by not having the fighters safe.
“You can’t let two alpha males walk up to each other face to face at the f***ing supper club or wherever the hell they were having that press conference today and let two guys stare down without somebody there to break it up.”
It appears the rivalry between the two champions is very much real. According to Canelo, the brawl happened as a result of Plant making a comment about his mother.

"Oh, he talked about my mum," Canelo told a journalist when asked about the events.
"He said 'you motherf**ker' so you passed the line right there, so that's why I pushed him and then he came back with a left hook. That's what happened."
Luis DeCubas Jr, Plant's manager, told ESPN that his cut is not significant and he will be sparring on Thursday as he steps up preparations for the massive showdown.
