Claressa Shields Brutally Slams Idea Of Fighting On Jake Paul Undercard, Says She Could 'Beat Up' YouTuber

Claressa Shields claimed she is a "$1million fighter" and Jake Paul was having a "circus show" after his performance against Tyron Woodley.

Claressa Shields has reignited her rivalry with Jake Paul by vowing to never fight on an undercard featuring him and claiming she could “beat up” the YouTuber.

The 26-year-old American star holds an unblemished 11-0 professional boxing record and made her MMA debut in June with a win over Brittney Elkin.

Shields has been eying up a huge boxing clash with rival Savannah Marshall, who she slammed as a “myth.”

Paul has become a divisive figure in the world of boxing after making his pro debut in 2020, with the YouTuber holding an unbeaten 4-0 record.

The 24-year-old American star notched up his most recent victory against former UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley in August.

Unified featherweight champ Amanda Serrano successfully retained her titles against Yamileth Mercado on the Paul vs Woodley undercard in Cleveland, Ohio.

However, Shields has no intention of following in Serrano’s footsteps by competing on a Paul undercard.

The three-division world champion insisted that she should earn more than Serrano’s $75,000-$100,000 purse, saying that she is a “$1million fighter.”

Speaking at the PFL 10 press conference, Shields said: “I would never fight on the undercard of Jake Paul. I'm a three-division world champion and a two-time Olympic gold medallist in boxing.

“I would never fight on Jake Paul's undercard. I don't know what Amanda Serrano's purse was -- I think it was $75,000-$100,000.

“I would never fight another boxing match for that money because I'm worth so much more. I'm a $1million fighter.

“[Jake Paul] was having a circus show. No disrespect to Tyron Woodley or Jake Paul, but I'm a real boxer. I could beat up Jake Paul at the weight class I'm at right now.

“I would never fight on the undercard of someone who does not possess the skills or accomplishments that I have.”

Shields will continue her fledgling MMA career with her women’s lightweight fight against Abigail Montes at PFL 10 on 27th October.

Paul has been linked with a lucrative super-fight with former Love Island star Tommy Fury after his win over Woodley.

Woodley has revealed that he has had ‘I love Jake Paul’ tattooed onto his finger after losing a bet connected to their fight.

The former UFC star is hopeful that his commitment to the tattoo could entice Paul to agree to a rematch.
