When Floyd Mayweather Nearly Got KO'd Before Winning Every Round Of Fight
Floyd Mayweather survived a massive scare against Shane Mosley before masterfully winning every round of their 2010 fight.
Mayweather fought Mosley in his second return fight following his brief retirement. He had beaten Juan Manuel Marquez before recording another impressive victory over his fellow American.
'Money' beat Mosley on points with two judges awarding him every round bar one. Mosley won the second round of their clash after landing a devastating right hand to wobble Mayweather who held on for dear life.
Mayweather grappled Mosley who eventually broke free and threw a flurry of punches.
Mosley continued his onslaught before throwing a brutal overhand right which rocked Mayweather. He jumped on the undefeated fighter who eventually saw out the round.
Mayweather then went onto win every round (in two of the judges' eyes) to win a landslide unanimous decision to win the lineal welterweight championship.
Two judges scored it 119-109 while the other judge scored it 118-110.
After dominating Mosley, Mayweather defeated nine more boxers to reach 50-0 before calling time on his storied professional career.
But the 42-year-old will return to the squared circle this year after striking a deal with UFC president Dana White.
"Floyd and I both believe that we add a lot of value to each other," White explained. "We'll see how things start to play out, probably by the fall of 2020, and we're probably going to do some business together.
"And if things play out the way things Floyd and I think they will, I will probably sit down with Al Haymond in March and get a deal on paper.
"If everything goes our way, Floyd and I would be doing something in October or November."
Mayweather last fought on New Year's Eve 2018, when he stopped Japanese kick-boxer Tenshin Nasukawa in the first round of their exhibition bout.
