Mike Tyson once stopped an opponent from crashing to the mat after clocking him with a trademark right hand.

Tyson took on Corey Sanders in an exhibition bout in 2006 after falling on hard times financially.

'Iron Mike' was 40 at the time and clearly past his best, but his shot hit hard and he stopped Sanders from clattering to the floor.

The fight was a part of his World Tour after filing for bankruptcy in 2003.

The self-proclaimed 'baddest man on the planet' admitted the World Tour was because he needed the money.

He also admitted it was so he could 'feel better about himself'.

The former world champion said at a news conference prior to the fight:

"If I don't get out of this financial quagmire there's a possibility I may have to be a punching bag for somebody.

"The money I make here isn't going to help any of my bills really from a tremendous standpoint, but I'm going to feel better about myself. I'm not going to be depressed."

Despite the upsetting circumstances for the exhibition it offered a new generation the chance to see Tyson in action.

Many YouTube commenters were in awe of the technical ability Tyson possessed even if he was lacking the physical aspect.

YouTube user Oscar Spark said:

"Look at his movement, look at his speed and hooks. Even today's Tyson, with proper training, would've beaten most of the current heavyweights."

Sean Fitch also added:

"I don't think the crowd understand how much of a privilege it must be to see a live Mike Tyson boxing match".

Tyson dominated the entire match and won every round against the six foot six Sanders.

He also fought without headgear while Sanders did, for obvious reasons.

The near foot height difference didn't make a significant impact on the result.

Fans were heard booing during the match however as they thought Tyson took it easy in some instances.

He clearly wanted to give his fans a show in his final set of fights so he refrained from totally finishing his opponent off.
