Tyson Fury's trainer has made the bold claim that the 31-year-old is the closest thing boxing has had to the legendary Muhammad Ali.
Ben Davison made the claim on talkSPORT that Fury's notoriety means he is now comparable to the most iconic face of boxing.
Davison was asked how influential Fury has been in his ten year career, and he stated:

"I have said it a few times now, but I believe once Tyson has finished with the sport, him and Muhammad Ali have so many resemblances and I think that in time people will see that."

Davison continued: "I am just pleased that Tyson can be himself and that the public are responding so well to it."
They are very bold claims considering the huge impact Ali left on boxing as well as society in general.
The boxer is regarded as one of the most influential sporting and cultural figures of the 20th century.

Furthermore, his career in the ring spanned three decades and a multitude of championships.
It's unlikely that his legacy will ever be matched so Davison's comments will surely have many fans in bemusement.
Fury is currently in the midst of prepping for his first ever professional wrestling match.
He'll have a match in Saudi Arabia at WWE's 'Crown Jewel' event, where he will face Braun Strowman.

He also seems to have an MMA career in mind, even stating 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor will train him.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he stated,
"We may see Tyson Fury make his MMA debut this year."
Fury wanting to cross over into different sports is commendable, but it is hard to picture him matching up to Ali.
