Tyson Fury Makes Shocking ‘Quit In Corner’ Promise Ahead Of Anthony Joshua Showdown

Tyson Fury has made a shocking promise ahead of his hotly anticipated heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua.

In a video shared on Instagram, Fury once again called out his fellow Brit and delivered a suitably outlandish commitment regarding how the fight will go down.

"AJ if you go past three rounds with me, I'll quit in the corner," promised Fury. "Because that's how confident I am that I'm taking you cold out within the first two-three rounds."

A massive statement from 'The Gypsy King' as Joshua is widely regarded as the bigger puncher of the two. So most boxing fans anticipate Fury utilising his boxing skills rather than going in for a finish early on.

It's easy to dismiss Fury's trash talk as more WWE-style hype from a boxer who revels in outrageous statements. But before his 2020 rematch with Deontay Wilder, Fury told the world he was going to come forward, put the feared puncher on the back foot, then knock him out.

Most people dismissed the prediction as mind games, but it was exactly how the fight played out as Fury was far more aggressive than he'd been in other major fights, where he'd relied on his movement, ring craft and defensive skills.

So there's definitely a possibility Fury looks to take out Joshua early, assuming the fight happens in 2021 - although we seriously doubt that Fury really will quit in the corner just because AJ is still in the fight after three rounds.

In another video, Fury - who's been training in Las Vegas with coach SugarHill Steward - once again goaded Joshua about the proposed super-fight.

After Fury had challenged UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, he finished: "And while I'm on a rant, I may as well call out one more person.

"A big, useless dosser - not a real fighting man. A hype job, bodybuild, crossfit, big, ugly s**thouse - that's Anthony Joshua.

"AJ if you're out there, let's make this fight happen you big dosser... I'm gonna smash your face in too. And there's not one thing you can do about it. Prove me wrong, sucker."

Despite a strong willingness from both camps to get the mega-fight signed and sealed, there's been a frustrating delay in announcing a date and venue for the only heavyweight fight that matters.

Whether Joshua responds to Fury's latest blast or not, the best retort every boxing fan is desperately wishing for is a genuine fight announcement regarding the two best big men in boxing getting it on.
