Jorge Linares was making the fourth defence of his WBA lightweight world title after capturing the belt against Anthony Crolla in 2016.
While Vasyl Lomachenko was fighting for his third world title in just his 12th professional fight.
He won the vacant WBO featherweight strap versus the previously unbeaten Gary Russell Jr., as well as stopping Roman Martinez to become the WBO super-featherweight world champion.
The 30-year-old decorated amateur was making his lightweight debut after campaigning at 130lbs.
