Jake Paul has claimed boxing helped 'save his life' after 'feeling lost' in his most honest and revealing interview yet.

The YouTube star is currently 3-0 in the ring and is set to face former UFC champion Tyron Woodley next month.

Paul has been a constant source of controversy since entering the mainstream in 2016, but he's opened up on how much the sport means to him.

Speaking to 'Subject to Change' per Dexerto, Paul replied when asked if fate drew him to boxing: "Yeah, I do. I believe, you know, there's chosen people in this world who have special destinies and special paths.

"I believe I was chosen 100% by the higher powers to live and fulfill this destiny for a higher purpose."

Many have attempted to discredit Paul and older brother, Logan, for their attempts to be taken seriously.

The 24-year-old has called out names such as Conor McGregor and Canelo Alvarez in the past, while also getting physical with Floyd Mayweather earlier this year.

Paul continued: "For me that higher purpose I think is, inspiring millions of kids who came from a humble background like me, to pursue their dreams and not let anyone stop them.

"And to take up the sport of boxing because it helped save my life. You know, I didn't know who I was, I didn't have purpose in LA, I felt lost, and boxing got me on the straight and narrow."

Paul has also launched an anti cyber-bullying charity titled 'Boxing Bullies' recently.

Between the ropes however, he is still hell bent on 'exposing' UFC fighters and their poor striking ability.

'The Problem Child' told Barstool Sports in a recent interview: "I think I'm exposing the UFC a bit with their striking capabilities.

"He's [Woodley] fought the 'best in the world' in the UFC, but that's not boxing. People think they're very similar sports, which they kind of are.

"But it's really relating swimming to basketball. It's two very different things.

"Boxers are more efficient, more precise, more conservative with their energy, scoring points.

"It's just a completely different ballgame, and a lot of people don't really understand that.

"They just take it at face value, which is, 'This is a fight'. It's not that.

"He's coming into my territory, and as crazy as it sounds, I'm a much better boxer than him - even though he's been doing it for five times as long."
