WWE Star Carmella Escapes Injury After Scary Royal Rumble Stunt Fail

Ouch, that's gotta hurt.

Carmella will be thanking her lucky stars that she didn't leave Royal Rumble in the back of an ambulance.

The WWE star was involved in a nasty incident that saw he fall flat on her face with her legs curled up like a scorpion.

The stunt occurred during Carmella's SmackDown women's title match against Sasha Banks and had fans flocking to social media after the event to see if she was alright.

With Banks outside of the ring at the time, Carmella ran at full-pelt and launcher herself over the ropes onto her opponent.

But instead of spear tackling Banks, Carmella overcooked her trajectory and ended up almost missing her intended target.

Thankfully women's champion Banks was on hand to catch her rival, but unfortunately for Carmella she landed face-first on the hard outer-ring surface as a result.

As footage of the failed stunt circulated around social media after Royal Rumble, viewers were quick to praise Banks for her efforts in potentially saving Carmella from a serious neck or back injury.

Wrestling fans also noticed that Banks acted fast by tapping Carmella to see if she was OK.

Classy stuff.

As for Carmella herself, she's just lucky to walk away unscathed after the 'scorpion-esque' stunt went horribly wrong.

One fan tweeted: "I legit thought Carmella broke her neck for a second."

While another added: "Thought I just watched Carmella break her back on live TV yikes."

The WWE later released a statement confirming that Carmella hadn't suffered any injuries.
