We're only one day in and the Australian Open is already proving to be golden entertainment.
And in the opening-round five-set thriller between Denis Shapovalov and Jannik Sinner, we witnessed something truly bizarre.
World number 11 Shapovalov genuinely threatened to "p*** in a bottle" after being denied a bathroom break by the umpire.

Yes, really.
With the match deep into the fourth set, Shapovalov made the umpire aware that he needed to use the toilet.
But upon asking for a quick break, he was shocked to receive a resounding "no" answer from the chair umpire.

Clearly fuming, the Canadian let the umpire know how he truly felt.
"What happens if I go?", he said.
"Do I get a fine? I don't care. What do you mean I can't go? Are you going to disqualify me? I have to pee.
"I'm going to p*** my pants! Ask your supervisor and let me know.

"I'm going to p*** in a bottle! By the time he (Sinner) comes, I would have been back already. You guys are not allowing players to p***? I don't understand this rule!"
By the rule book, Shapovalov was allowed a toilet break as long as it was taken between sets.
But even after his victory, the fiery 21-year-old couldn't wrap his head around the umpire's decision.

"I was just blowing off steam, just kind of cooling my head, getting rid of it," he said in his post-match interview.
"But also, I do think it's a dumb rule. Especially for me, I've got the smallest bladder ever, so I literally got to take a p*** every set. So it's difficult, especially when you're on that court for so long.
"Before the match I'm trying to hydrate as much as possible, so yeah, I've got to pee, man."
Shapovalov will now take on Aussie Bernard Tomic in the second round of the Australian Open.
