It's the coaching triumvirate made in heaven.

The Johns brothers and Sonny Bill Williams tasked with giving life to the Samoan national team - how good!

Matty Johns originally floated the idea while speaking on Fox Sports' Matty Johns Show, and it seems SBW is deadly serious about it too.

According to The Herald, a source close to the All Blacks legend has confirmed that he's genuinely keen and has already held initial discussions with both Matty and Andrew.

It's understood two-time NRL Premiership-winner SBW is also onboard with the idea of doing the gig for free.

"They've got a head coach at the moment there. But I spoke to Joey (Andrew Johns) again about it today, and yeah (we're serious), definitely," Matty Johns said.

"We've got full-time jobs so I don't know how it would work out, and Joey has been talking to Sonny Bill Williams as well.

"We would do it for nothing. Quite seriously, and Joey is the same, you wouldn't take a cent. Sonny wouldn't. It would be a bit of three-way coaching. I don't know how it would work, but in my opinion Samoa should be emulating what Tonga are doing.

"There should be a goal that within a couple of years Samoa should be beating Australia, like Tonga have been doing."

In the meantime, Samoa have guaranteed long-serving head coach Matt Parish his job until at least this year's World Cup.

"Matt has been our head coach since 2013 and has helped strengthen our game on and off the field," Rugby League Samoa president Tagaloa Faafouina Su'a said in a statement.

"We are a proud nation with passionate rugby league fans and I have no doubt the best years for Rugby League Samoa are ahead of us.

"The Rugby League Samoa board wish Matt and the team every success as preparations continue for the World Cup later this year."

It goes without saying, but the arrival of the Johns Brothers and SBW as coaches would have substantial pulling power in convincing rugby league's biggest stars to represent Samoa.

The likes of Josh Papalii'i, Nelson Asofa-Solomona, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, Junior Paulo, Martin Taupau, Dylan Brown, Jaydn Su'a, Josh McGuire, David Nofoaluma, Anthony Milford, Joey Leilua and Luciano Leilua would be eligible to play for to the Pacific nation.

Elsewhere, NRL table-toppers the Penrith Panthers currently possess some of the hottest young talent who are also available for Samoan selection including Jarome Luai, Stephen Crichton and Brian To'o to name a few.

Samoa certainly have the players capable of dethroning Tonga, New Zealand and Australia on the international stage.

Add in not one but THREE rugby league legends to coach the team and you've got something truly special.
