Ahead of every State of Origin series, the NRL's biggest and best pundits name their preferred starting line-ups for both Queensland and New South Wales.

In fairness, they're normally pretty good - but they're nothing compared to this latest one.

Social media guru The Gould Father, a parody account for rugby league legend Phil Gould, has named his best line-up for the NSW Blues team.

And judging by the reactions from his die-hard followers, it appears most people totally agree with his selections.

You have to admit, it looks like a pretty solid team.

And even when The Gould Father was questioned on some of his decisions in the comments section, he didn't shy away from arguing the reasons for his selections.

One bloke in the comments section said: "Well getting rid of (Tevita) Pangai Jr would be a start surely? NSW are stacked with back rowers."

To which The Gould Father replied: "On current form, he's easily one of the best back rowers right now."

Pangai Jr recently pledged his allegiance to New South Wales.

And when another fan questioned his decision to name Angus Crichton as captain, the social media fan favourite argued: "Yeah G, absolute workhorse and leads from the front."

His justifications were met with plenty of likes too.

Even rival supporters were onboard with the deadly line-up, with one fan commenting: "Bruh I'm a Queenslander but this is the first time I've seen a good NSW line-up."

The New South Wales team has been the centre of much debate following the side's upset loss to Queensland in last year's series.

The demoralising defeat has seen many fans call for a shake-up in Brad Fittler's starting line-up.

It seems The Gould Father is clearly one of those people and ultimately decided to drop both Jack Wighton and Latrell Mitchell from his star-studded back line.

This call was met with raised eyebrows by some of his fans, but unlike his other decisions, the comments didn't fall on deaf ears and The Gould Father was willing to make adjustments - well, sort of.

"G up to putting Staggs in before Latrell?" one fan asked.

To which The Gould Father simply replied: "Alright I'll chuck Latrell in as 18th man..."
