This is what footy is all about.

Whether it's the AFL, A-League or NRL, it has become somewhat of a trend for rookies to ring their parents to notify them of the news that they'll be making their debuts that weekend.

And unsurprisingly, some of the reactions have been classic.

We've already witnessed Collingwood starlet Trey Ruscoe and his mother Fiona become instant fan favourites with their hilarious exchange over video call.

But this time, St George Illawarra Dragons youngster Cody Ramsey stole the show with this heartfelt conversation with both his coaches and family.

In a video posted on the Dragons' social media channels, interim head coach Dean Young is seen telling 20-year-old Ramsey of his inclusion in St George's clash with the Canberra Raiders on Saturday.

He'll become the 235th player to represent the joint-venture club and his reaction to the news says it all.

"Have you got anything planned on Saturday arvo at three o'clock?" Dragons coach Young asked.

"Because you're going to make your debut big boy."

To which an ecstatic and emotional Ramsey replied: "F*** off, you're kiddin'! Far out, that's crazy."

"That's f****** amazing. Thank you so much. Holy s***, that's f*****."

The scene then cuts to Ramsey calling his father to tell him the news.

"I've got something to tell ya... I'm making my debut this weekend," he said down the phone.

"You f****** beauty," Ramsey's dad replied.

"I knew you were gonna say that! F****** what time?! Where? When? How excited are you?!"

While both exchanges are rather funny given the amount of expletives, they both show how much it means to Ramsey, his family and the club themselves.

Top work by everyone involved.
