NFL Release Powerful 'Football Is Gay' Video

'Football is gay. Football is queer. Football is accepting.'

That's the message from one of the biggest sports organisations on the planet - the NFL.

The National Football League has released a powerful video to show its support for the LGBTQ+ community.

There's no flashy highlights, funky graphics or even big-name stars who feature in the clip, instead we're left with a raw yet touching message that America's No.1 sport is inclusive.

In the short video, which only lasts 30 seconds, the NFL states that football is: gay, lesbian, beautiful, queer, life, exciting, culture, transgender, heart, power, tough, bisexual, strong, freedom, America, accepting, everything.

It then finishes of perfectly with: "Football is for everyone."

But just as the clip wraps up, it gives viewers an alarming stat.

"LGBTQ+ youth with at least one accepting adult have 40% lower risk of attempting suicide."

The release of the video comes just a week after Las Vegas Raiders defensive player Carl Nassib became the first NFL star in history to come out as gay while still an active player.

Nassib received overwhelming support from the NFL community with countless players, fans and even the commissioner coming out and praising him.

Just 24 short hours after his announcement, it was revealed that Nassib had the top-selling jersey in the country.
