GRAPHIC WARNING.

Collingwood player Isaac Quaynor was sent to hospital last night with a nasty laceration to his leg.

Despite walking away from the Gabba with a nine-point win over Sydney, the Magpies lost three big-name stars to injury in the process - Quaynor being one of them.

AFL fans watching from home were left feeling a little squeamish when vision emerged of the Collingwood defender's six to eight inch gash.

Quaynor went down after an incident with Swans star Sam Wicks as medical staff were quick to attend the scene.

Upon their arrival, club doctors discovered the massive open cut to the 20-year-old's right shin which may have been caused through contact with illegal metal studs.

It's understood, the AFL are now investigating the incident and whether Wicks had illegal studs in his boots when he connected with Quaynor's leg.

Shocked fans immediately took to social media to either share the grim picture or discuss their thoughts on the incident.

As for Quaynor, he now joins his fellow Collingwood teammates Will Hoskin-Elliott and Adam Treloar on the physio's treatment table after all three players came off early against the Swans.

The Magpies' win takes them up to seventh on the AFL ladder, although the eighth-placed Greater Western Sydney Giants have a game in hand.
