Get ready to dive into the life and career of one of the most high-profile athletes in history.

That's right, ESPN's documentary series all about Tom Brady is finally coming onto the small screen and it will give you an insight into the NFL footballer like never before.

It was meant to be gridiron's answer to the critically acclaimed The Last Dance, which was all about Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls and the incredible seasons that played out during the 1990s.

Well, Man In The Arena is hoping to have the same calibre of insights, never-before-seen footage and interviews with those who know Brady best.

"After 21 seasons in the NFL, Tom Brady will share a personal first-hand account of his ten Super Bowl appearances," a synopsis for the series states.

"In a groundbreaking new series coming to ESPN+, Tom deconstructs the milestones of his legendary career, mining the psychological and emotional terrain of each victory and defeat.

"Each episode focuses on a single Super Bowl appearance and centers not just on the pivotal moments, but everything that leads to them, illustrating the series of small steps that seem insignificant at the time, but when reflected upon, show the distance traveled."

Brady went from being the 199th pick in the NFL draft at the start of his career to becoming one of the most well known stars in the history of the sport.

The 10-part series was announced just after The Last Dance debuted its final episode last year.

Brady released a statement at the time, saying: "Through the series, we're defining the key moments and challenges that were seemingly insurmountable, but through hard work and perseverance, became career-defining triumphs, in both victory and defeat."

Man In The Arena has been produced by Brady's production company 199 Productions.

ESPN Films executive producer Connor Schell said about the series: "Nine Super Bowl appearances over the course of 20 years is an achievement on an unmatched level.

"We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Tom Brady as he reflects on each of those nine, season-long journeys and the pivotal moments that defined them.

"Gotham Chopra is a highly skilled filmmaker who I am confident will bring to life this story of an icon in a new and revealing way."

The series will be available to watch on the ESPN+ streaming service in the US and will be on the Aussie platform Kayo from 8pm tonight.

Each episode will drop on Kayo on Tuesday at 9pm until it finishes on January 18.
